Ownership structure

The Nortura SA group is a cooperative which is owned by 18,800 active members who produce meat and eggs.

 

  

 

Annual General Meeting
Consists of 110 delegates elected by the membership. It is also attended by the 14 members of the group board, as well as the foreman and deputy foreman of the AGM. The employees are represented in accordance with agreements. The AGM elects the board, audit committee and nominating committee.

The group council
Consists of 30 members. These are the 14 members of the board, 11 regional committee chairmen and 5 branch committee chairmen. The audit committee and the chairman and deputy chairman of the nominating committee are entitled to attend meetings of the group council. The group council is chaired by the AGM’s foreman or deputy foreman.

The group board
The group board has 14 members. 8 members and the chairman are elected at the AGM. The employees are represented by five board members.

Audit committee
Consists of 3 representatives elected by the membership at the AGM.

Nominating committee
Consists of 7 members elected at the AGM.

Branch committees
There are five branch committees – for beef, pork, mutton, poultry and eggs. The number of members in the various committees varies somewhat. The branch committees are appointed by the group board and are intended to advise Nortura BA’s administration on production and market conditions as well as strategic development within their own fields.
