Food safety is Nortura’s most important focus area and applies to the entire value chain – from stall to table.
Several of our employees have food safety as their sole occupations. We work closely with our suppliers, customers and the authorities to ensure that consumers have safe food.
It is the individual operation in all links from production to sale of food that is responsible for the safety of food. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority that monitors compliance with legislation and regulations on connection with production and sale.

As a part of the reorganization of food administration in Norway, the authorities established the Norwegian Scientific Commitee for Food Safety in 2004. The main task of the committee is to carry out risk assessments for the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
