Nortura transports animals in accordance with the strict rules determined by Norwegian authorities. Transport requirements in Norway are far stricter than those that apply in the EU.

Nortura carefully follows animal transport and comprehensively registers all transport times and any deaths in connection with transport. This information is used to continuously improve our routines.
The percentage of animals that die during transport shall be low, and only healthy animals that are fit for transport may be loaded onto vehicles. However, deaths do occur for various reasons, but the proportion of dead animals is currently only a few thousandths of the total transport. Over the past 20 years we have had a drastic reduction in mortality.
